Scan in as two separate images.
Make a new image 11 x 14, at the same resolution as the two images...one on
each side.
Copy and paste the first one to the the 11 x 14 and drag it (using the move
tool) right to side of the "paper". Then copy and paste the second image to
the 11 x 14 "paper".
Move it as close as possible to where you think it should be. Then, bring
down the opacity of that second layer to maybe 50% so you can see thru it and
make sure the two images line up. While in the move tool, you can use the
arrow keys to tweak it EXACTLY into place. Use different layer blending modes
to color and value correct so everything looks like it matches.
Finally, flatten the image.
