I've got one or 2 of the cheap "video conferencing" cameras & the resolution
really stinks... 640x480
Let me know what voltage(s) you need for a PS. I have a bunch of different
ones..

well, I had in mind the CCD camera modules that are sold as door spy etc ..
you need to look for a (cheap) power supply and cabling but the modules
themselves start at $25 (b/w) or $55 (color), at least in Germany.

oops, I forgot, you might need a grabber card as well ...
