Actually, the makeup of the committee was not accidental. The people on
the steering committee were invited by James and myself and based on
several years of knowing their skills and contributions to the list. Both
James and I also wanted representation from around the globe. The current
absence of any women on the steering group is an unfortunate oversight that
we are correcting.
Here is where things currently stand:
- The steering committee is getting itself organized. More members will be
invited to join the steering group today or tomorrow.
- A poll of the entire membership will determine the exact NAME of the
event and the DATE of the event. Anyone who has a suggestion for a NAME or
DATE and has not sent that to James, needs to do so today.
- A list of working groups will soon be listed on a web page with requests
for volunteers and a contact person for each group. We hope that everyone
interested in volunteering will find something to do in one of these
groups, or let one of the steering group know what is missing. Many
people have expressed interest so far and that is an important point - the
success of this will rest completely on the involvement of the list.
Sorry information has been slow coming out. I hope this helps some.
