The Mamiya that I have is a rangefinder, no removable backs. It has a
rear curtain in it that you have to shut to take off a lens, and then you
can click it open with a flip switch on the bottom of the camera when the
lens is back on. However I think it would be much easier to put tape over
the pinhole instead of using it as a shutter. Also, in order to advance the
film you had to have tripped the shutter, or else the film advance lever
doesn't move...
So I actually have 2 problems here to deal with, one now solved by
Carsten below, and the other still to be figured out--the shutter button
does not press down and take a pic, but I think if I hook up the cable
release, turn it on with the cable release depressed, it will click the
shutter release button and then I can advance the film.
I do not know the Mamiya. I use a pinhole lenscap on my hasselblad but but
the rear curtain works as a sutter without the lens. How does the mamiya
work does it use film backs like the hasselblad ? If it does does it have a
fear curtain ? I would act as a sutter
