I have been trying (with reasonable success) making direct positives on
regular resin coated B&W paper. I am wondering if anyone else has done or
is doing this so we can compare notes. My process is...
[1] 2 minutes in Ethol LPD @ 1:1 dilution.
[2] 30 seconds in stop bath.
[3] Turn main lights on as the remainder of process is done in room
light.
[4] 30 seconds rinse in running water.
[5] Bleach until image is cleared using Kodak Direct Positive Bleach.
[6] 1 minute rinse under running water.
[7] 30 seconds in Sodium Sulfite, 1 teaspoon in 8 oz water.
[8] 30 second rinse in running water.
[9] 2 minutes re-develop in Ethol LPD.
[10] 30 seconds in stop bath.
[11] 2 minutes in GAF Rapid Fix.
[12] 2 minutes rinse in running water.
This process was found by experimenting and gives pretty good results.
The pure whites could be a bit brighter but otherwise the image OK. The
products used here are not chosen for performance, it's just what I have
"in stock".
