The February 2001 issue of Shutterbug magazine has a review of the
Dreamagon lens and some more sample photos. They look VERY
much like zone plate images, but the exposute times are quite a bit
shorter (so short that a Neutral Density filter may be needed in full
sun). As a releable way to get specific artistic effect, it's great.
BUT,
it's an expensive lens compared to even a commercially produced
zone plate. It also lacks the experimental quality that many pinholers
consider to be at the heart of the pinhole process.

(N.B.: The Dreamagon web site still may list a US distributor, but
the distributor has gone ou of business. Photographers in the US
will need to order the lens direct from Germany.)
