Hi Peter,

Suggest placing the filters behind the pinhole on the ring to eliminate
problems. Keep it simple!

If you're going to make paper negatives with multi-contrast paper you can
use multi-contrast filters to adjust the contrast. For example, a soft
filter on a bright sunny day will give you a negative that is not so dense
and is easier to print. You can make cloudy days look sunny with a high
contrast filter.

With film you can use most any filters for conventional or creative effects.

For color film, you might need to use a light yellow filter to correct for
reciprocity failure when shooting in daylight.

Use neutral density filters to record sun tracks, that is, the path the sun
makes in the sky during the day.

Subject: [pinhole-discussion] filters with Zero 2000

> Hi all. I received a Zero 2000 for Christmas this year (my first pinhole
camera), and I'm trying to decide how to use filters with the camera. I
would prefer to use ring-mounted glass filters, as I already own a selection
of them. I have two ideas that I may try. The first is to mount a step-up
ring on the inside of the camera, just inside the pinhole, and screw the
filters in at this position. The second is to "hang" the filters somehow
underneath the cable release shutter that I just bought, so that when the
shutter lifts up, it lifts the filter into place just in front of the
pinhole. This second method would be more complex but also more versatile,
I believe. Any opinions or other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
