Sure, lots of people have and do, all the time. Some people fit a pinhole in front of a 35mm camera, some expose 35mm film in camera made from 35mm canisters. It works fine. If you want enlargements from 35mm that are sharp, you'll probably be disappointed (but then why use pinhole?) I've shot and scanned 127 cartridge film (same width as 35mm format) and digitally printed up to 8x10 and liked the results. But it depends on what you're going for.
