RE: studio photography / flash

On large format, I've used multiple flashes many times to get F/32 or
smaller in a studio. If your pinhole is effectively f200 or something, you
will certainly need multiple flashes. If you have a flashmeter, just read
the light as normal, extrapolate out to your real f/stop (double the flashes
for every f/stop change, see below*), darken the room, turn out the modeling
light(!), find a comfy chair and some sunglasses, and start popping and
counting.<g> Plan to add some pops at the end because of reciprocity.

*If your flashmeter reads one flash at f/16 (for your ISO), and your pinhole
is f/250, that's 8 stops, so it's 2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256 pops!

|Never tried flash + pinhole yet, but would like to use my lighting
|equipment for that purpose too. Just never asked so far, so your
|question comes in handy.
