Thanks for the comments. As I said before, I do like the effect, I just
like to understand it better so I can control when I get it. I think it
makes these photos work, although the black and white would have been fine
without it.
The film is Ultra 50, the exposure was somewhere around 5 seconds on the
sunflower. I can't remember the exposure on the other color shot or the
black and white, which was on APX 25. Probably in the same range. The
black and white is a negative scan, with levels adjustment and
spotting. The color shots were hand-printed (not by me) and scanned. I
did a fair amount of color adjustment to try and match the prints on the
screen.
