Merry Christmas to all.

Vaughn, according to Crawford, the Woodbury process started with a
high relief dry gelatin image (0.005 inch high in the shadows) and
then a mold was made by pressing the image against a lead block with
pressures on the order of 5 ton/square inch! This gave a mold which
was filled with melted pigmented gelatin and then pressed against a
sheet of paper to transfer the image.
