I would personally only recommend the use of glycerine in arid
climates where the humidity is consistently below about RH 30%. In my
own environment adding it to the pigmented gelatin has decided
negatives even when the humidity is fairly low, say 40-50%, and in
conditions of RH 55% or more, the addition of glycerine is a major
negative.

The issue is that with drying time after sensitizing is greatly
increased by the use of glycerine, and even when dry to the touch the
tissue may still be wet inside and stick to the negative.

My guess is that Paris has fairly high humidity most of the year.
