Re: Why so much

Hello Yves,

I have joked to the students about my "Jello" Prints (Jello is a brand name
of a gelatin dessert here in the USA). Perhaps trying to make a print with
an envelope to 500ml would create a mess only worth eating.

I use the amount I do because someone at sometime used that amount, it
worked, and I have blindly followed their instructions -- 12 packets, or
about 85 grams, for a 750 ml batch of solution. Never tried less, never
tried more...sort of a "It works so don't break it" type of thing.

My assumption has been that about 150 years ago someone tried different
amounts and found that this amount works. Might be fun to double the amount
and see what happens, but I'd rather spend the time making beautiful
objects...and my latest prints...yummy!

But perhaps someone here actually knows the answer, besides my rather silly
assumptions/explanation.
