RE: water spots

Hi

I'm having a problem with water spotting on double transfer pigment prints
and was hoping for some advice from the more experienced carbon printers.

I transfer from a polyvinyl material to 140 lb lanaguarelle, coated with a
3% gelatin layer hardened with chrome alum. After separating the transfer,
I wash for 30-45 minutes in tap water and tape to glass plate to dry. I
accelerate drying time with a small fan. Water drops tend to form on the
image and leave a noticeable mark when dry. I've tried to remove the excess
water with a light wiping with a sponge, but pigment layer is too delicate.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
