Vacuum Drying is the removal of moisture from a object when placed in a
vacuum... ........ Water will boil off at 70 degrees F in a vacuum.......
The bigest advantage to vacuum drying is that you can dry with little or no
heat..... ..It is also 20 to 30 times faster than air or heat drying.....
I think ( or at least hoping ) with carbon printing the advantage would be
that you can possibly sensitize the emulsion before coating , and dry a
heavy coating very quickly before any spontaneous hardening
occurs................I am also hoping that any air bubbles will be
eliminated thru the process.......
I purchased a large vacuum oven , vacuum pump, and a cold trap to
experiment with and I have not yet gotten to hooking everything up.....I am
very optimistic this will work though.........
