I'd expect the same treatments that harden ordinary photographic gelatin
(as used, for instance, to reduce scratching or reticulation of film --
aluminum alum in acidic solution, tanning agents, etc.) would harden
fish gelatin. A suitable amount of such hardening might produce a
product sufficiently similar in properties to traditional hide gelatin
to require little or no change in procedure.

Alternately, work could be carried out at low temperatures, which will
solidify the fish gelatin.
