apart from some slightly vague descriptions, the best / most detailed
part is from; "Encyclopedia of Photography" by Walter E. Woodbury 1892
third edition(?). You might know this one ?

(There is some lovely ideas in there; Diamond Lens: as the refractive
index is smaller than glass the lens can be made smaller :) )

also have one bachelor level thesis done by a student here in 1996, but
as my capacity for reading Japanese is a bit slow, it might take some
time before I get something useful out of it. On the surface it does not
look like it contains anything too revolutionary - that is, they made
some 4x5 size prints with lead plates. Mainly following the "old way".

I might try this later, but usually I like a bit bigger prints, hmmm, of
course the way to make big prints in contact printing is to use several
negatives -- could of course use several small prints instead...

This is in one sense what I like with these processes, the mechanics and
limitations of the processes force interesting solutions...
