JOhn,
I'm guessing "engraving" because of what appears to be a title following
the oval of the picture in the enlarged section of the image shown which is
the last one down. This would make sense since this would be more common on
an engraving. What is meant by engraving is also curious as there were
quite a few lovely photomechanical processes used then that are now
obsolete so it could be most anything. It does not appear to be a line
engraving though hard to tell from the resolution of the image.
