Given the date of 1894, I suppose it could be any number of things.
Could be a collotype, photogravure, photolithograph, and from the image
shown on eBay, there's no way to tell. It doesn't seem that the seller
has much of a clue, either. If you had the thing in front of you,
you could look at the grain with a loup and check for plate marks.

I would try doing some research to see if you could find anything out
about the publisher, A.W. Elson & Co. Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, or
the Boston Public Library could probably help you.
