in the wee hours this morning i had my first attempt at carbon printing.
it was semi successful. on the positive i did get an image with relief.
for the not positive. I believe that i did not add enough ink to the mix
because the shadows are not dark enough. when the gelatin is dry on the
temp. support how dark should it look? i also think that the gelatin
was not thick enough which also contributed to the light shadows. i will
build a template to surround the temp. support next time when the
gelatin is poured on. the biggest problem that i did encounter was the
image not adhering to the final support. while developing in the hot
water the edges were flapping around. for the first attempt i used fixed
out photographic paper, i put it in the transfer bath 20 minutes before
the transfer with the temp. support. i used masking tape around the edge
for 1/4" and than opaque tape for another 1/2". why did this happen?
thanks
david
