Dear Sandy
I am new to the carbon group musing, and I have a question.
I was in a seminar hosted by Don Clark last March, and we
sensitized the tissue after the initial drying.
I have read that when you mix the ink, you can put the
dichromate in at that time to avoid having to spend another
day sensitizing, with the drawback being the coated
tissue is sensitized at the dilution specified, and the
paper must be used immediately when dry. So far, so good.
My question, is for a 6 percent mixture of dichromate,
would I calculate that ratio based on the amount of ink
I have prepared?
For example, if I am preparing 1000ml of ink, and want a 6
percent dichromate solution, I would simply add 6 grams
of dichromate to the ink (assuming the ration for 6 percent is
6 grams per 1000ml).
Or more to teh point, have you added the dichromate to the
ink solution before, if so, what is the process?
Sincerely,
Mike
