The tissue will stick to the Plexiglas sheet until it is good and
dry. If you look through the Plexiglas at the gelatin, you can see if it
still looks wet or not. Some areas may already be separating.

Depending on your relative humidity it can certainly take a few days to
dry. As long as the Plexiglas was clean you should see it separating
soon.

I doubt that an alcohol bath would cause the tissue to separate, but have
never tried. My guess is that it would wet the tissue again and you'd
have to wait for it to dry again. Of course the alcohol would probably
evaporate quicker.
